Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aMechanical Engineerto join theLighting Sector Pinnacle Teamin Denver, CO. The Mechanical Engineer will join the Sales Engineering team at Pinnacle Architectural Lighting to develop custom high-quality market differentiated luminaire designs. They must be able to design highly customized products that are uncompromising in quality and performance yet cost-effective, simple to assemble, install, and service while meeting the customer’s project requirements. They must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure each project meets deadlines, specifications, and quality standards. As part of the Sales Engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to shape the future of Pinnacle’s custom product offerings. What Will You Do? + Own product design and development to support the release of custom luminaire designs that meet the highest standard for performance, quality, cost, and safety. + Use 3D modelling design best practices to develop custom product designs that are easy to manufacture, assemble, install, and maintain. + Communicate project requirements proficiently to internal/external stakeholders. + Serves as an extension of the sales team by fielding questions from internal/external stakeholders and providing answers on standard and custom products. + Must be able to collaborate effectively with product management, manufacturing, purchasing, external suppliers and certification agencies to execute projects. + Set priorities to meet or exceed project budget and schedule across multiple projects at one time. Anticipate risks and propose innovative solutions to overcome obstacles. + Lead the research and development to integrate new technologies, materials, and optical designs to drive cutting-edge custom product releases. + Develop clear and comprehensive custom engineering documentation, including but not limited to, 3D parts, assemblies, drawings, pattern pages, MOD drawings, and technical reports. + Perform design and manufacturability reviews, coordinate purchase requests with relevant stakeholders, and ensure alignment with product deadline requirements. + Demonstrate a keen understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with product specification and validation. Qualifications Required Skills Education/Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years relevant work experience. + Lighting Industry experience strongly desired but not required. + Proficient in Solidworks and mechanical design; proficient in Microsoft office suite. + Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage competing priorities. + A team player mentality with excellent communication and organizational skills. + Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. + Adept in troubleshooting and developing solutions for issues in production or the field.
