Mechanical Engineer
**Description:** Lockheed Martin's \(MFC\) BA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Archbald, PA site\. In this role you will join an integrated team responsible for the technical development and detailed design of mechanical systems supporting our customer\. What You Will Be Doing: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing products related to various military platforms\. You will work closely with a cross\-functional team to meet the product needs and requirements of our customer\. Your responsibilities will include: \- Research, plan, design, and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems\. \- Areas of focus will include detailed design, design for manufacturability, structural integrity, thermal management, etc\. \- Conduct analysis to ensure concepts meet all design requirements\. \- Collaborate with cross\-functional team of design and manufacturing engineers\. This position seeks to take a candidate with relevant mechanical design and analysis training/experience and grow these skills further with continued learning\. **Basic Qualifications:** \- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field \(such as Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Engineering Mechanics\)\. \- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes\. \- Experience with 3D CAD design software\. \- Knowledge of engineering analysis tools, such as finite element analysis \(FEA\) and computational fluid dynamics \(CFD\)\. \- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance\. **Desired Skills:** \- Familiarity with CREO\. \- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing \(GD&T\)\. \- Experience with MBD \(Model\-based definition\) and higher DSR \(data strating\) modeling \(DSR4\-6\)\. \- Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis techniques and software tools \(STAR CCM\+, FloEFD, Simcenter 3D, ANSA/META, NASTRAN, etc\.\)\. \- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME \(American st for ME\)\. \- Strong problem\-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components\. \- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross\-functional teams and communicate technical information to non\-technical stakeholders\. **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\. **Clearance Level:** Secret **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\.
