Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to enhance existing designs and develop new ones. This role involves creating 3D models for mechanical parts, engineering drawings for manufacturing, and providing technical support to clients. You will be responsible for developing prototypes, testing new designs, and occasionally traveling to customer manufacturing plants to gather information and collaborate with manufacturing and design teams.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical parts with complete BOMs and proposal drawings for customer approval.Develop prototypes and test new designs.Travel occasionally to customer manufacturing plants to gather information and liaise with manufacturing/design teams.Design cutting tools for the pipe industry, including special inserts, chip breakers, cartridges, tool holders, and boring bars.Design tools for the bending industry, including bending dies, clamp dies, pressure dies, wiper dies, and mandrels.Identify and resolve issues with tooling and piping.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 3D (preferably Inventor).Experience in metal cutting, fixture design, metal bending, and milling.Bachelor’s degree in engineering.3+ years of machine tooling/design experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with metal cutting, metal holding, fixturing or piping.Work Environment
The role is based in an office-style environment, with some work-from-home flexibility once you're up to speed. You will work alongside a team of six engineers and will occasionally visit customer sites, collaborating with manufacturing teams. Though most of your time will be spent designing, you should be open to hands-on work, not just desk-based tasks.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $41.00/hr.
