**Description** SAIC is looking for a Mechanical (Quality) Engineer to support the quality assurance and engineering responsibilities associated with MK48 programs at our East gate facility in Bedford, IN. JOB DUTIES: + Support quality assurance and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. + Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. + Performs paint and other coating inspections at SAIC and supplier locations + Performs pre-shipment inspections of completed systems prior to delivery + Assists in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of findings from quality inspections and manufacturing + Maintains documentation of quality inspections in accordance with SAIC procedures and customer requirements + Communicates discrepancies to vendors or coordinates with procurement regarding vendor performance + Performs internal audits, as required, in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements + As a secondary function of the position, works with support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. **Qualifications** REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0 years’ experience. + Strong written and oral communication skills. + Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple projects at one time. + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point and Project). + Candidate must be a US Citizen. + Candidate must also be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
