Join us. **Job Description** AECOM's Architectural Business, **Buildings + Places** is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** to join our team. This position is based out of our Markham, ON Canadian company headquarters, with opportunities for hybrid work permitted. Major Responsibilities: + A key member of the mechanical design team responsible for design and construction administration of various facilities, + Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design, co-ordinate with all disciplines; + Design HVAC, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems; + Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (Carrier HAP); + Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations; + Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards; + Write/ edit mechanical specifications; + Travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports. + Provides guidance to entry level engineers. + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field of study + 4 years of experience in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems design + Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or equivalent **Preferred Requirements:** + 10-15 years of experience + Strong Consulting Industry background + In-depth knowledge of HVAC and controls systems + Design knowledge in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems + Experience in LEED/ Net Zero design preferred + Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment. + Very strong communication skills, spoken and written; good presentation skills. + Able to work independently or as part of a team **Additional Information** + Company-paid relocation is not available for this position. + Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
