Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to formulate electronic packaging design concepts and create detailed drawings utilizing 3D CAD solid modeling. The role involves providing CAD conceptual and detailed design support based on project and product requirements, as well as creating, checking, and approving detail and assembly drawings for production release. The position also includes generating and implementing Engineering Changes and supporting mechanical packaging design.
ResponsibilitiesFormulate electronic packaging design concepts using 3D CAD solid modeling.Provide CAD conceptual and detailed design support based on project and product requirements.Create, check, and approve detail drawings for production release.Create, check, and approve assembly drawings with parts lists for production release.Generate and implement Engineering Changes.Support mechanical packaging design.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks (CSWP or better is a plus).0 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design.Ability to obtain security clearance.Experience with CAD and 3D CAD.Knowledge of materials including aluminum, steel, and plastics.Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and electro-mechanical packaging.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.Knowledge of electronic components.Work Environment
The work environment is a blend of office and lab settings. The role requires onsite presence, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility provided. Some travel may be required. There is occasional interaction with software teams, particularly related to video wall projects. The company promotes a small, family-like atmosphere, offering independence and flexibility when needed. Technical challenges and interesting projects are part of the role, with opportunities for amazing trips. The team includes two mechanical engineers, a senior electronics technician with 35 years of experience, and several engineers in separate business areas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
