Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description + We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer or Designer to support our backlog of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. + You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including those for the VA, OGS, correctional facilities, UB expansions, and state parks. + Your role will be pivotal in assisting with new projects and managing existing workloads. Responsibilities + Assist in the design and layout of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using Revit. + Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/piping sizing. + Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports. + Support senior mechanical engineers with energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis for mechanical systems. + Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. + Conduct field site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions and ensure compliance. + Provide construction administration support including submittal review, RFI responses, periodic site visits, and punch listing. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. + Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or design. + Ability to work semi-independently with minimal guidance. + Experience with mechanical design, specification writing, and understanding of building codes. + Proficiency in plumbing design, drafting, HVAC, and fire protection. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of NYS Building Codes and industry-standard design recommendations. + Experience designing mechanical systems from the pre-schematic phase. + Proficiency in energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations, and life cycle cost analysis.
