Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in the energy industry, focusing on hydropower units. This role involves the analysis of mechanical components, utilizing in-house tools and developing calculations as necessary. You will be responsible for creating documentation for proposals, technical reports, and customer O&M manuals, as well as reviewing and approving mechanical drawings to meet contractual and internal requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze mechanical components using in-house tools and develop calculations as necessary.
+ Prepare documentation for proposals, technical reports, and customer O&M manuals.
+ Review and approve mechanical drawings to ensure they meet contractual and internal requirements.
+ Create engineering instructions that define technical requirements for manufacturing, installation, and testing.
+ Generate engineering documentation with support from designers and drafters.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
+ Experience in project engineering.
+ Knowledge of generators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5+ years of engineering experience.
+ Ability to read and understand contracts with close attention to detail.
+ Manufacturing experience in welding, machining, and/or casting.
+ Site experience is a plus.
Work Environment
Enjoy a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office, providing a long-term opportunity to work under professional engineers. The work environment includes continuous education courses for those interested in obtaining their PE. The role supports a team of 20 engineers within the local Charlotte group specializing in turbines/generators and power systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $62.00/hr.
