Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively. Amentum are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer who will be making clarifications of the deliverables necessary for the construction with the help of the Back Office who carried out the studies (EPR E, EDVANCE, CNEPE). Key responsibilities will be: + Gathering input data, analysing / updating hypothesis notes and loading description reports + Performing mechanical stresses analysesEquipment anchorages capability Possibly valves calculationsProposing appropriate and proportionate modifications in case the sizing criteria are not met + Closing of open points and comments + Assessing and answering technical issues arising during manufacturing, construction works, erection + Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed-over to JDO + Doing some hand calculations and running anchorages macros to assess thefeasibility of modification + Checking calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies + Proposing improvements for the studies not finalized + Maintaining Edvance’s QA procedures in delivering the design + Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings + Leading technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities **Qualifications** + Science, mechanical engineering degree + First experience in Civil Work and Steel structures design and constructions activities + Knowledge of EUROCODE, RCC-M code (if possible) + Experience working in a multicultural environment + Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset + Knowledge and CI & BoP buildings and specificities will be an added value + Experience in the management of transverse technical topics + Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, organisation, writing ability + Good organizational, writing and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realization of the activities of document production, steering and interfaces with the various correspondents + Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous interfaces, to question and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines.
