Join a dynamic team in Dayton, OH, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you will work with a leading manufacturer specializing in heavy-duty no-bake foundry equipment for the metal casting industry. ResponsibilitiesManage projects from design through installation.Design mechanical systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Create and review drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).Support sales with technical input and cost projections.Provide direct technical support to customers and service teams.Conduct research and development for new products and drive standardization.Perform cost analysis and ensure profitability.Essential SkillsBachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field.5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience.Proficiency in SolidWorks and ERP systems, with SAP preferred.Experience with PDM software, preferably Vault.Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple projects independently.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mixing sand heaters is advantageous.Familiarity with pneumatics and controls for communication with the controls team.Hydraulics knowledge is a bonus.Experience with heavy capital equipment is highly beneficial.Work Environment
The position requires a 40-hour work week with flexible hours, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:00/4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The engineering team consists of 8 members within a total company headcount of approximately 30. The company boasts a 50-year history with an international presence and fosters a small, family-oriented culture. The work atmosphere is low-pressure, focusing on balance and well-being, with rare weekend work. The role is 90% desk-based, with 80-85% of the time spent in SolidWorks and BOM creation. The remaining time involves emails, customer communication, and engineering collaboration. The office is located on the second floor with occasional visits to a non-climate-controlled fab shop. This is a 100% onsite role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $43.00/hr.
