Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to collaborate on the development of exterior lighting projects, bringing new or improved products to market. This role involves a hands-on approach to assembling prototype designs, creating demonstration spaces, and working closely with manufacturing.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate in the development of exterior lighting projects to bring new or improved products to market.Utilize a hands-on approach to assembling prototype designs, creating demonstration spaces, and working closely with manufacturing.Take ownership of complete project deliverables, including design documentation, ordering system setup, production documentation, sales tools, and cost model.Create custom variations of standard products to rapidly deliver on unique customer applications.Qualify products to ensure our offerings exceed industry standards for product quality and safety.Support production teams in daily operations through expeditious identification of issues and thoughtful root cause analysis.Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.Enhance product quality and streamline production processes by efficiently executing engineering change requests.Essential SkillsProven track record of identifying and executing new product development projects from design to production implementation.Tenacious problem-solver with an energetic approach to raising the bar.Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to forge relationships and align on the best decisions.Detail-oriented with a desire to 'roll up your sleeves' to help your team meet project deadlines.Customer-focused with a strong sense of urgency.Team player with a demonstrated history of building rapport and quickly integrating with new teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-5 years of professional engineering work experience, preferably in product development or sustaining engineering.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design from an accredited program.Expertise in 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred, with the ability to interpret and apply GD&T.Experience working with CNC and die cast aluminum.Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams through projects or organizations.Industry and optics design experience preferred but not required.Familiarity with AC and DC circuits, as well as constant current and constant voltage architectures, preferred but not required.Proficiency in using testing equipment for design validation testing, including multimeter, thermocouples, and calipers.Work Environment
You will be part of a very small engineering team, working closely with the sales team and other engineers. The work environment emphasizes collaboration and innovation, providing opportunities to contribute to unique architectural outdoor and landscape lighting products.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
