Mechanical Engineer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Engineering position for vehicle assembly tools and equipment.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
● Professional degree in Engineering (Electromechanical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar)
● 2 or more years of experience in a related position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
● Bilingual (80% English and Spanish) both oral and written
● Core Tools
● Design software (CATIA / SolidWorks / AutoCAD)
● SAP system
● Drawing interpretation
● Project management

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Determine the tools required to perform operations.
● Perform safety-related activities. 

● Business cases to select the best tools without safety, quality, and/or productivity risks.
● Obtain and acquire tools through the purchasing process, ensuring timely delivery.
● Design tools, accessories, and fixtures according to requirements.
● Resolve quality issues with your cross-functional team.
● Implement short- and long-term improvements.
● Acquire capital equipment.
● Provide daily support to the assembly lines or subassembly areas assigned.
● Develop and mitigate risk analyses for the processes under your responsibility.
● Develop machining, integration, and service suppliers.
● Establish the necessary requirements for the modification and/or development of new equipment and/or tooling and fixtures.
● Implement and validate new acquired or modified equipment. 

● Development of projects focused on savings.
● Management of spare parts registrations and deregistrations in Toolcrib.
● Release of 2D drawings and specifications for new models and/or platforms.
● Participation in maintaining the PFMEA to anticipate poka-yokes in assigned areas.
● Management of electrical, pneumatic, and network node descents for new equipment to be implemented.
● Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Coordinator or Manager.
● Participate in compliance with the QMS (Quality Management System) determined for their role in relation to ISO 9001:2015.
● Comply with safety rules determined according to their role.
● Complete planned training related to Quality and Training on time.
● Identify and report any quality and compliance issues and support corrective actions.
