As a Mechanical Designer within the Project Engineering Team, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of Trojan’s UV water treatment systems for municipal and industrial customers. Your work will have a direct impact on the quality, performance, and custom configuration of our UV reactor systems, ensuring they meet site-specific requirements and customer expectations.
This position is part of the Project Engineering Mechanical Team located in London,ON and will be Hybrid.

In this role, a typical day will look like:
System Configuration Review:
Review custom Bill of Materials (BOMs), build sheets, and system layout drawings for open channel and closed vessel UV systems. Evaluate level control designs, including fixed weirs and gates.
Project Support:
Partner with Project Managers and Coordinators to update build sheets, site configurations, and BOMs. Provide design input based on customer specifications and site layouts.
Custom Mechanical Design:
Design specialized components such as stainless steel channels, inlet/outlet boxes, weirs, troughs, flow conditioners, mounting brackets, UV modules, custom reactors, and lifting cranes.
Review and Quality Assurance:
Check and approve engineering changes, support production with corrections, and process project-specific updates (e.g., stop orders or deviations). Provide cost estimates for sales and troubleshoot installation issues.
Engineering Analysis:
Use SolidWorks and FEA tools to analyze mechanical and structural components. Conduct hydraulic analysis to validate designs and ensure systems perform reliably under site conditions.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with Product Engineering to update design tools (e.g., configurators), suggest improvements to standard designs, and contribute to the evolution of Trojan’s UV product lines.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma in a relevant technology, or equivalent experience.
At least three to five years work experience in a similar role.
Experience using SolidWorks.
