Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Mechanical team, for Hospitality HVAC Design projects in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale FL office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit platformsPerform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE)Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staffLayout air and water side systems on working drawingsUnderstand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for applicationCommunicate with equipment vendors to determine requirements for applying productsPerform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projectsCoordinate with other disciplines (mep, fp, arch, struct, etc) for HVAC detailsMaintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projectsUnderstand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work planUnderstand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment
What your experience looks like
4+ years in designing HVAC systems for Aviation, Transit and Commercial Building projects or recent graduate with internship experience in the HVAC field for construction projects, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.An Engineering Bachelor’s degree specializing in HVAC/Mechanical EngineeringAuto CAD, REVIT MEP familiarGood Written and verbal communicationEIT Certification is desired working towards PE.
