Description

The Mechanical Designer will demonstrate utilization of the PTC suite of design and PLM programs (Creo and Windchill) to design and layout mechanical and electrical systems. The designer ensures proper form, fit and function while improving product performance, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

•\tLeads and assists engineering in new product development design solutions as part of the phase-gate process

•\tDevelop and design mechanical components and assemblies using Creo

•\tCreates and manages PLM Process via Bill of Material (BOM) creation and maintenance in PTC-Windchill.

•\tWork from oral or written engineering instructions, procedures, schematics, drawings, and sketches

•\tDevelops and designs mechanical parts and assemblies, as well as 3D harness routing using Creo Schematic and Pro/CABLE

•\tCreation of 2D harness drawings

•\tCreo modeling, managing assemblies, BOM Windchill, drawing changes, simple to clean sheet designs

•\tDesigning brackets, harness/cable design/routing, copper tubing/routing, drawing packages

•\tDevelop, communicate, and present design concepts

•\tUnderstanding of Design failure mode and effects analysis and tolerance analysis

•\tPrepare Engineering documentation, bills of material and change notices

•\tProvides design support for current production products

•\tInteracts with vendors, service personnel, and outside engineering resources

Qualifications:

•\tTechnical Associates Engineering Degree preferred

•\t5+ years of relevant work experience required

•\tProficient in Creo

•\tKnowledge of mechanical design and assembly management, material selection, and BOM creation / maintenance

•\tStrong written and verbal skills with ability to follow written instructions

•\tAdvanced utilization of PTC PLM system (Windchill)

•\tKnowledge of wire harness design & routing

•\tMust be customer driven and quality minded in performing all assigned duties

•\tMust be able to function in a technical engineering team environment

•\tMust have the ability to handle multiple, varied tasks simultaneously

•\tMust be able to adjust to changing demands, priorities and objectives

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
