Job Description
This is a 3-month contract position focused on transferring drawings from PDF files, hand drawings, and other CAD platforms to complete the 3D modeling of components and assemblies.
Responsibilities
Generate CAD models and conduct FEA analysis as needed on components and in conjunction with engineers.Utilize knowledge of equipment capabilities, application techniques, and design limitations during the design process with minimal input.Finalize CAD design models within the project timeline, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Prepare design concepts, assemblies, and detail drawings and completed models for new product development.Perform mathematical calculations, research material options, and manufacturing techniques.Ensure that all product development processes conform to internal quality systems.Requirements:
SolidWorks proficiency.3D modeling experience.2+ years of mechanical designer experience.Component and assembly design.Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications
FEA or other analysis experience.Two years of college or an Associate’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or Engineering Technologies, or a CAD certification.Ability to work from concept to production.Detailed knowledge of various prototype and production manufacturing techniques for metal and plastic components.Experience working with an ECR/ECN process and manufacturing BOM systems.Work Environment
This is an office environment. The Mechanical Designer will have a cubicle and work closely with the Sr. Designer for direction on assignments. Interaction with other departments such as Quality and Production is expected as needed for design-related updates.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
