To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Mechanical Design Engineer located in Austin TX.
Reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost effective product solutions of complex scope in order to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.
What a typical day looks like:
Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned program areas to create custom tooling, jigs and fixtures with standard processes such as CNC milling/turning and Additive ManufacturingCreate and release detailed drawings and interface with machine shop for quote and completionManage sourcing and deliveries from suppliers for fabrication of tools/fixtures and equipmentWork with other members of the development team to support manufacturing tooling design initiativesAssist in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectationsSupport design improvements that enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costsProvide complex technical support to manufacturing floor to enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costsPerform Tolerance Analysis and make recommendationsProject Management on multiple customer accounts.The experience we’re looking to add to our team,
2+ years of 3D CAD Experience (Solidworks, Creo or NX preferred)Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, high energy and strong time management skillsStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in teams and collaborate with othersDemonstrated leadership skills and team orientation"Hands On" Design Project Examples or PortfolioDrawing creation and release experienceHere are a few of our preferred experiences,
Must have at least 2+ years experience post graduationa and internship3D CAD Experience in one or more of the following: Solidworks, Fusion 360, NX, Creo.3D Printing ExperienceManual or CNC Milling/Lathe ExperienceIntroductory Understanding of GD&T / Dimensional ManagementJS21
