Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with product design experience to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting CAD development of new concepts; maintain engineering BOM and manage customer and supplier change requests. The ideal candidate will have ability to work independently & as part of cross-functional teams, able to work under minimal supervision and exhibit a high attention to detail which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Rate: Pay is between $30-32/hour w2 (Will be dependent on experience level)

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for products including, but not limited to, Hood Latches, Endgate Latches, Power/Manual Actuators, Strikers, Endgate Handles, Window Regulators and Door Modules.  Analysis of performance, failure modes, and testing requirements and maintenance of engineering documents such as DFMEA, specifications, and design calculations. Creating/maintaining/updating detailed component drawingsRequirements Design, Engineering and Manufacturing Process experience such as stamping, injection molding, cold heading, riveting, machining,  fine blanking, insert molding.  Prior experience with CATIA required Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
