Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of components and assemblies for gas turbine systems, including combustors, casings, ducts, and pressure vessels.Perform detailed engineering hand calculations for stress analysis, thermal expansion, fatigue, and creep life assessments.Design pressure vessels in compliance with ASME Section VIII, PED, or other applicable standards.Generate and review 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings with proper GD&T and tolerances.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including thermal, materials, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design robustness.Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and validation testing (including hydrostatic and pressure tests).Interface with suppliers and fabrication teams for material selection, welding processes, and quality compliance.Maintain documentation, revision control, and compliance with engineering standards and industry codes.
Work Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.5+ years of design engineering experience in gas turbine or power generation systems.Strong command of hand calculations for pressure, stress, thermal, and fatigue analysis.Proven experience in pressure vessel design, including familiarity with ASME, API, or PED codes.Proficiency in CAD tools – Creo.Sound understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and material behavior at elevated temperatures.Working knowledge of GD&T, FEA basics, and material specifications for high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
