Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, the engineer would be responsible for the successful validation and implementation of new and existing parts used on Polaris off-road vehicles. This includes work within all systems on a vehicle and involves design and analysis of components and assemblies to achieve superior performance, safety, and quality- chassis, suspension, cooling systems, bodywork-. Work closely with project, sourcing, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure all aspects of the development and implementation processes are executed well. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete the design, and analyze components and assemblies in support of the development and refinement of off-road vehiclesCollaborate with Vehicle Architects and Subject Matter Experts to ensure new components and assemblies meet all customer and business requirementsInteract and direct resources across multiple engineering sites and work collaboratively with on/offshore resources to reach final design in the most efficient meansParticipate in testing and benchmarking activitiesInitiate and maintain schedules, DFMEAs, and DVP&RsParticipate in key project milestones including team meetings, design reviews, gate reviews, and safety reviewsWork with the quality team on root cause analysis activities and gather, analyze, track, and report on warranty and other consumer quality information related to structural componentsTake responsibility for other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or related.3+ years of design experience; preferably in off-road, construction, or industrial equipmentThis is a Bilingual role; English is a must.Ability to drive vehicles for development and testing purposes is preferredExperience with Ansys or similar FEA software is preferredExperience with bolted joint analysis, GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups, and engineering standards is preferredExperience in 3D CAD DesignAbility to communicate concisely and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

Fast paced office environment. Based at Apodaca Nuevo Leon Mexico.Flexible hours are required to participate in meetings with global team. Domestic and international travel may be required (<15%)#LI-MR1
