Mechanical CAD Designer - Development
The Mechanical CAD Designer is responsible for preparing and maintaining engineering or sustaining project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI/SLB standards, considering methods of manufacture and tolerance and their effect on related parts or assemblies. + Function as a design engineer for routine/correction. + Prepare average complexity original mechanical layouts using the CAD system. + Depending on seniority, use the CAD system to prepare and maintain highest complexity mechanical and average complexity electrical and electronic product and production drawings and other related documentation from layouts, sketches or verbal instructions. + Be responsible for accuracy of assignments, except for design features that are the responsibility of the project engineer. + Understand ANSI/SLB drafting methods, standards and procedures. + Understand SLB manufacturing processes and techniques, and interpretation of ANSI/SLB standards and procedures. + Possesses basic knowledge of the mechanical and, depending on the seniority, partial to total knowledge of the electrical and electronic Business Line. + Maintain status reports on all projects assigned. It would be great if they were familiar with oil and gas, down hole tool design, and more broadly were familiar with CREO and had expertise in GD&T. Machining skills a plus when recruiting. Would prefer a candidate that had longer tenure between assignments, rather than short stints at different employers.
