Mechanical Assembler
**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. You will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing small parts and components, as well as performing shipping and receiving duties. Your work will include product assembly, inspection, and maintaining critical alignment and concentricity tolerances. **Responsibilities** + Insert helix assemblies into metal shell enclosures, maintaining critical alignment and concentricity tolerances. + Inspect and verify helix pitch, alignment, and mechanical integrity using microscopes, vision systems, and precision metrology tools. + Perform cleanroom handling, contamination control, and vacuum-compatible cleaning procedures. + Assist with bake-out, brazing preparation, or tuning fixture setup for RF verification. + Document build process and deviations using travelers, work instructions, and QMS systems. + Work collaboratively with engineering and QA teams to support continuous process improvement. + Maintain proper ESD, safety, and cleanliness protocols during all stages of assembly. + Perform other duties as required, including support tasks across adjacent production or prototyping areas as needed. + Assemble, inspect, or test small parts/components under a microscope or magnification equipment. + Use hand tools, tweezers, and micro-assembly tools with precision. + Perform step-by-step inspections to ensure customer specifications are met and all steps are completed correctly and in the right order. + Use fixtures, tools, and learn to perform basic testing of components and finished products. **Essential Skills** + Microscope or magnification-based assembly experience (minimum 1 year preferred). + Familiarity with electromechanical, optical, or miniature components. + Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. + Comfortable performing fine motor tasks for extended periods. + Ability to work with tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) and small intricate parts. + Ability to read SOPs and follow a detailed set of instructions. + Basic and customized assembly of small mechanical components. + Ability to read technical drawings, GD&T, and assembly schematics. + Strong manual dexterity, patience, and attention to fine detail. + Proven ability to work under microscope or high-magnification optics for extended periods. + Familiarity with precision measurement tools: micrometers, optical comparators, or similar. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 3+ years of experience in RF component, medical device, or aerospace precision assembly. + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Ability to accurately use various hand tools (tweezers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) in the assembly process. + Close attention to detail and quality oriented. + Mechanical skills and good hand/eye coordination. + Prior manufacturing experience and willingness to learn and grow skills on the job. **Why Work Here?** Join our team and benefit from a climate-controlled environment, offering great opportunities for growth. Our assembly area is very controlled and clean, dedicated to assembling electronic and mechanical tubes and scopes. Regular lifting is around 10-20 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.07 - $23.07/hr.
