Job Title: Mechanical Analyst
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Analyst to conduct airframe stress analysis using well-established aerospace industry methods and textbooks. You will leverage FEMAP with NX Nastran and apply classical hand calculations to analyze both metallic and composite structures. Your expertise will aid designers in creating efficient lightweight designs by utilizing appropriate load paths. Additionally, you will use FARO Scan Arm technology to gather data for reverse engineering and be responsible for reviewing and approving 3D engineering drawings.

ResponsibilitiesConduct airframe stress analysis using methods from Bruhn, Niu, Roark, and Flabel.Utilize FEMAP with NX Nastran and classical hand calculations to analyze structures.Assist designers in developing efficient lightweight designs with proper load paths.Collect data for reverse engineering using FARO Scan Arm.Review and approve 3D engineering drawings.Essential SkillsProficiency in structural analysis within the aviation sector.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.5-8 years of experience in relevant fields.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with FEMAP, aircraft systems, and structural engineering.Knowledge in mechanical and aircraft design.Familiarity with sheet metal design and project management.Experience with ANSYS software.Work Environment

You will be part of a dedicated mechanical engineering team comprising around 20 engineers. The team works closely with a separate 145-person repair and fabrication shop, providing ample exposure to full-cycle manufacturing. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mattaponi, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
