We are seeking a Mechanical Analyst who is skilled in airframe stress analysis using common aerospace industry methods and textbooks such as Bruhn, Niu, Roark, and Flabel. The role involves utilizing FEMAP with NX Nastran coupled with classical hand calculations to efficiently analyze metallic and composite structures. You will assist designers in developing efficient lightweight designs using proper load paths and utilize FARO Scan Arm for data collection in reverse engineering. Additionally, you will review and approve 3D engineering drawings.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct airframe stress analysis utilizing common aerospace industry methods and textbooks.
+ Utilize FEMAP with NX Nastran for analyzing metallic and composite structures.
+ Assist designers in developing efficient lightweight designs using proper load paths.
+ Collect data using FARO Scan Arm for reverse engineering purposes.
+ Review and approve 3D engineering drawings.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in structural analysis within aviation.
+ Expertise in FEMAP and NX Nastran.
+ Strong skills in aircraft design and mechanical design.
+ Experience in sheet metal and structural analysis.
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering.
+ 8-20 years of experience in relevant fields.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in project management.
+ Knowledge of structural engineering and stress analysis.
+ Familiarity with Ansys software.
Work Environment
You will be part of a mechanical engineering team comprising around 20 engineers. The team operates alongside a separate repair and fabrication shop with 145 personnel, offering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. This opportunity provides great exposure to full cycle manufacturing with potential for growth and direct hire based on performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
