We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Advisor to join our team at our site in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Are you ready to be part of this exciting journey?

 

Responsibilities:

Define the maintenance schedule, analyze damage, and prevent potential issues. Recommend corrective actions, including defining spare parts and manpower required for repairs charged to the Customer. Provide technical advisory to improve the performance of the power plant. Write monthly mechanical maintenance reports for the plant. Plan, organize, and supervise the execution of mechanical maintenance programs. Prepare and submit the acceptance report to the customer for signature. Submit the mechanical maintenance report to the customer within 48 hours after intervention. Train customer mechanical employees according to contractual terms and conditions. Provide technical support to the customer when needed. Maintain the plant during normal working hours according to company policies, procedures, and operation profile/plan. Comply with all safety regulations, including isolation, lockout, and tagout procedures. Maintain engines and auxiliary equipment in good condition, ensuring cleanliness and taking necessary steps for prevention and correction of abnormalities. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor as required. Isolate and prepare for the stopping and starting of engines, resolving any flaws that occur during these processes. Coach and mentor other technicians and general laborers. Inspect mechanical systems of engines, auxiliary equipment, and other equipment in the plant to detect faults and take necessary steps for prevention and correction of abnormalities. Recondition and overhaul engine mechanical components. Carry out corrective inspections of all mechanical equipment and supervise the engines. Maintain mechanical tools, fixtures, cutting tools, and hand tools. Report the works performed and other forms of reporting.

 

Desired Qualification, experience & skills:

 

Education : HND or Engineering Degree in Mechanical

Experience : 5 years of previous experience in power generation in a 24/7 environment or maintenance duties in large process plants.

General Skills :

Excellent general mechanical knowledge of facility plant and equipment with superb fault-finding skills and abilities. Team worker. Problem-solving skills. Effective communication. Customer focus and ownership. Proficiency in French is a must. Good command of English (B2 level or superior). Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs. Engine knowledge (desirable). Knowledge of auxiliaries (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators).
