Mechanic (Refrigeration Maintenance Technician)

PURPOSE The Refrigeration Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of refrigeration chillers and heaters. Maintain, repair, and install all types of existing HVAC, refrigeration, and pneumatic control systems. In addition to general maintenance duties including dismantling machines, servicing or replacing defective parts, wiring and rewiring motors, replacing bearings and seals, aligning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance duties to ensure equipment is functioning and maintained. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBelow is a list of essential duties of this position. NOTE: Other duties may be assigned as needed. + Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration chillers and heaters. + Dismantle machines, service or replace defective parts using standard repair or replacement parts and reassemble machines. + Wire and rewire motors to service or repair. + Replace bearings and seals. + Maintain pump equipment. + Deep knowledge on pneumatic system, including compressors, control valves, and panels. + Align, lubricate, and perform other maintenance duties to ensure equipment is functioning and maintained. + Ensure inventory of necessary parts is maintained. Order and stock spare parts, maintenance supplies, and similar items. + Read and interpret documents/manuals related to the facility’s structures and equipment. + Inspect equipment on a regular schedule to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely per company and federal/state safety requirements. + Research and make recommendations of equipment/parts purchases. + Maintain necessary records and paperwork. + Operate various industrial equipment including but not limited to manlifts, carry deck cranes, rail engines, etc. + Service and repair various types of equipment found on top of tanks and other elevated work. + Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner. + Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner. + Support team efforts, actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperate with others, and actively learn from other team members. + Reports to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates. + Employee shall comply with applicable regulatory and The Company health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
