Military Veterans and Reservists are encouraged to apply. As the Maintenance Mechanic for Savage you will be implementing and maintaining the Savage Maintenance for the Point Tupper Marine Terminal. Here is what you will be doing + Complete PM services on plant and process equipment + Understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program + Properly record and complete maintenance reports and service records + Maintain and report spare parts inventory + Knowledge of rigging + Perform any other special tasks assigned by management + Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations; i.e. maintenance, clean up + Maintain cleanliness of equipment and conveyors + Repair maintenance issue’s + Understands our critical service requirements and see they are met Requirements of a successful Maintenance Mechanic + Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English + Mechanical background with conveyor systems and yellow equipment Here are some of the physical requirements of this role + Team Members are routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements + Physically able to handle large tools and equipment (50 lbs.) + Climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights At Savage, we pride ourselves on providing our Team Members with a focus on safety not typically seen in other companies.
