The Opportunity This position aligns with Plan International’s core values and principles and is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the drilling rig, as well as the execution of all drilling activities using appropriate and approved methods. The Mechanic Driver – Rig Maintenance Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation, transportation, and maintenance of drilling rigs and support vehicles. The position supports both shallow and deep well drilling activities by operating drilling rigs, performing preventive maintenance, and promptly addressing mechanical issues. The role also includes safely transporting drilling rigs and coordinating closely with the drilling crew to ensure efficient and uninterrupted drilling operations in line with PIE’s organizational standards and safety protocols.
