Mechanic
Job Title: McElroy Mechanic Location: Northeast Houston, Texas Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; overtime as needed Travel: Less than 5% (mostly day trips; occasional overnight if required) Details: An established environmental containment and piping solutions provider is seeking a McElroy Mechanic to join their Houston team. This role is available due to recent staffing changes and will play a key part in ensuring reliability and readiness of rental equipment while supporting overall shop operations. This opportunity offers full benefits, stability, and the chance to develop technical skills while working with a wide range of machinery and equipment. Salary is open and commensurate with experience. Focus Includes: + Performing cradle-to-grave repairs and preventative maintenance on McElroy fusion equipment, shop machinery, and company fleet vehicles + Diagnosing and repairing simple to complex mechanical issues + Logging maintenance and repairs; maintaining service rotation records + Ensuring proper equipment check-in/check-out procedures for all rentals + Executing repairs or required accessory installations as necessary + Providing technical support and preventative maintenance guidance to clients and users + Supporting customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with co-workers and clients + Assisting with warehouse organization and cleanliness as needed Top consideration given to candidates with: + Valid McElroy Certification (required) + 3+ years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience + High school diploma or GED + Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills + Familiarity with mechanic’s tools, diagnostic equipment, and service procedures + Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively + Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills + Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record + TWIC card, or ability to obtain Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: + Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 45 lbs + Ability to work in shop and field environments with exposure to moving machinery, vehicles, electrical current, and occasional fumes/dust + Must maintain valid employment eligibility documentation and pass background screening for plant entry + Must pass pre-employment, post-employment, and random drug screenings + Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
