Position Summary:

The 2nd Person Meat assists the Meat Manager in overseeing daily operations of the meat department. This includes ensuring product quality, proper merchandising, customer service, and compliance with health and safety standards. This position plays a key leadership role and may act as the department head in the absence of the Meat Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Step in and act as Department Manager in managers absence. Performs all managerial duties including decision making on all days the manager is absent. At minimum, will be expected to act as Department Manager on a weekly basis.Assist with ordering, inventory control, and merchandising.Maintain high standards of product quality, food safety, and sanitation.Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations.Train and mentor new meat cutters and clerks.Operate cutting equipment safely and skillfully, ensuring efficient product preparation.Ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and safety protocols.
