Job Description

POSITION: Engineer - MDM reporting to Associate Director, will join a team that uses cutting-edge technology to solve challenges for both the front-end and back-end architecture and deliver exceptional experiences for clients and users. As MDM Engineer, you will help establish the Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM) processes, enabling Data Governance & Stewardship, Data Quality, and eliminating manual customizations in individual systems by providing standard integrations of master data. An individual in this role is responsible for data profiling and mining to provide the business and project teams insights and recommendations to drive master data-related decisions, including but not limited to continuous improvement through analytics, process design and improvement, report development and maintenance and research. Engineer – MDM is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and adaptation of the MDM solution.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Analyze varying stakeholder concerns, proactively working with diverse groups to address concerns and build consensus.

• Lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of MDM and RDM solutions that best meet our technical and business requirements.

• Lead design, development and deployment of MDM solution.

• Establish standardized processes and procedures to manage reference data and master data.

• Work with the Application Development teams to implement data strategies and build data flows.

• Design and implement a comprehensive master data governance strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

• Identify and define roles and responsibilities for data stewards and data owners across the organization and provide guidance on their duties in managing and maintaining data assets.

• Facilitate meetings of the data governance council or steering committee, consisting of key stakeholders from various departments, to make decisions on data governance policies and initiatives.

• Create and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.

• Continuously evaluate and refine data governance processes and practices based on feedback, lessons learned, and emerging industry trends.

• Establish processes for monitoring and improving data quality, including data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment.

• Develop procedures for managing the lifecycle of master data, including data acquisition, storage, usage, and archival or disposal.

• Promote data governance best practices, raise stakeholder awareness, and provide training and support as needed.

• Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and regularly report progress to senior management.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with master data governance, including data breaches, unauthorized access, and non-compliance. • Promote the value of master data governance and encourage collaboration and accountability among stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture within the organization.

• Oversee the metadata management to ensure that data assets are properly documented, understood, and utilized.

• Collaborate with data owners and compliance teams to establish data security and privacy policies and controls to protect sensitive data.

• Support data governance initiatives like data governance platforms, data catalogues, and metadata repositories.

• Brainstorm with the software engineering, data engineering, and data science team on ways to improve and extend our platform.

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud, Python, and R.

• Experience in Pimcore, Informatica, Reltio

• Healthcare (Pharma, Hospitals, Payers) experience is desirable.

• 5+ years of experience on Data Strategy, Data Analytics, or a related field

• 5+ years of Design and Development of MDM solutions

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with partners to extract information and accurately summarize for stakeholders to consume.

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• A logical, structured approach to planning, problem-solving, prioritizing and decisionmaking.

• Understanding of data-driven business models

• Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities.

• Ability to work independently and as a team player.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities.

• Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engg., Technology, Computer Science • 5-8 years relevant industry experience (Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Consulting, Management Consulting, Hospital systems, Payers, Enterprise level data-analytical solutions)
