The Crew Workforce and Schedule planning team is responsible for establishing the optimal staffing levels for the airline while balancing network supportability, operational reliability, crew member satisfaction, and enterprise cost. As airline flying schedules follow ever changing consumer demand, accurately forecasting crew manpower requirements is critical to running a reliable operation. Similarly, establishing efficient, yet reliable, crew schedules is critical to ensuring we optimally use our crew resources (both pilots and flight attendants) and deliver reliable schedules for our crew members. The Managing Director for this team will lead a team of approximately 50 team members, divided between the Crew Workforce Planning team and the Crew Schedule Planning team.
**What you'll do**
+ Lead the team in engineering robust staffing plans for both pilot and flight attendant workgroups while balancing operational reliability, crew member satisfaction, and enterprise costs.
+ Leverage advanced analytics to forecast, optimize, track, report, and manage crew business variables
+ Drive execution of the staffing plan through schedule construction tools and overseeing all preferential bidding system (PBS) production processes
+ Drive continuous improvement of manpower analytics tools - crew staffing models, reserve forecast, training optimization engine, training assignment model, and 360-loop validation to ensure model integrity and operational relevance.
+ Drive continuous improvement in crew sequence construction tools and fidelity
+ Lead operational and financial analysis of business variables including, but not limited to, flying schedules, labor contract provisions, regulatory provisions, and technology.
+ Engage actively with Crew Scheduling Operations at the IOC and floor supervisors in staffing plan execution
+ Partner with Training leadership for both pilots and flight attendants to ensure staffing plan readiness at all times
+ Partner with Flight and Flight Service groups on staffing variables impacting our crew members and facilitate effective communication of changes.
+ Partner with Network and Schedule planning teams to maximize crew supportability of airline flying plans while maintaining planned operational reliability profile and crew member satisfaction levels.
+ Partner with Finance team to deliver on key efficiency initiatives and support the monthly and annual Pilot and FA payroll forecast process (i.e. Budget)
+ Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis team in securing timely approval for hiring proposals and other resource requests.
+ Partner with Labor Relations on contractual provisions
+ Engage with union representatives, both APA and APFA, in partnership with Flight and Flight Service leadership. Engagement with front-line Pilots and Flight Attendant in multitude of forums.

**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ Demonstrates the highest standards of personal ethics and integrity
+ Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, or related technical field and/or equivalent experience/training
+ 10 years of experience in leadership roles, overseeing large workgroups with cross-functional teams
**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ Previous experience in Operations planning, Crew Resource planning, Airline planning, Strategic business planning and/or Business forecasting preferred
+ Understanding of existing pilot and/or flight attendant JCBA is a plus
