Your work environment at EXP

EXP’s Kingston office is currently seeking a Materials Testing Field Technician/Site Inspector to join their team. Reporting to the Office and Division Managers, the successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced group.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Executing on-site tests which includes casting cylinders, slump test, air content tests, proof rolls, compaction testing and reportingExecuting soil sampling, asphalt hot-mix sampling on siteGeneral review of construction to confirm compliance with approved drawings and specificationsCommunication with various EXP team membersThe technicians will interact with the on-site clients (contractors) to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needs

What your experience looks like

College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is an assetExperience working in the field on construction project sitesMust have strong people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of staff and clientsStrong writing skills including the ability to write field reportsMust be able to communicate (verbally/writing) in EnglishIdeally concrete/soils/asphalt testing experience and certifications would be advantageousStrong general math skills and proficient in reading engineering drawingsExperience with civil site works (grading, servicing, etc.) is an assetMust have a valid Canadian driver’s license and own vehicle (mileage allowance will be provided)
