Your Role

 

The Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly materials operations to ensure efficient flow and availability of raw materials and components that support life science manufacturing. This role acts as a central point of coordination between procurement, sourcing, planning, and production teams.

The Materials Management Supervisor ensures accurate and timely reporting, inventory oversight, and issue resolution through structured team engagement, cross-functional communication, and proactive escalation of challenges. This position plays a vital role in supporting our customers, operational performance, supplier management, and executive reporting, while maintaining compliance with quality standards and company procedures. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, an ability to prioritize high-impact materials issues, and a collaborative mindset to drive alignment across the supply chain. This individual also champions a culture of continuous improvement and team development.

Duties Include

Lead daily materials management operations, including team check-ins, purchase order (PO) approvals, and top-issue support/escalationMaintain clear and consistent communication with cross-functional stakeholders to escalate urgent issues and support resolutionOversee weekly materials reporting by updating key material challenges, reviewing inventory data from key contributors, providing commentary on top inventory parts, and supporting sourcing documentation and scorecard tracking.Drive monthly Operations Reviews by preparing and updating slide decks, inventory summaries, scorecard metrics, and IBM (Integrated Business Management) updates, including key messages for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).Track and report on raw material (RM) inventory, usage trends, and availability risksParticipate in weekly Tier 3/4 meetings to communicate updates on tracker items raised by operations, and contribute to team meetings and 1:1s to support staff development, clarity, and alignment.Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy, material visibility, and team collaboration

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or any other Life Science discipline 3+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations2+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role with demonstrated success in managing people and processes

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience in the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industryKnowledge of ERP systems, inventory control, and purchasing workflowsFamiliarity with cGMP, ISO, and quality management systemsStrong communication and presentation skills—comfortable reporting to senior leadershipAnalytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilitiesCollaborative team leader with a proactive, hands-on approachStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
