Job Responsibilities:

OB DUTIES:Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the aisles and stocking locations.Cycle counting as requested by material planners.Cycle count and order Pass through parts based off sheet.Monitor paper flow from receiving operation to material planners.Supervise all activities of the material handlers and coordinator.Training of all forklift drivers, material handlers, utility, maintenance and any other employees required to possess a forklift driver's license.Training of receiving coordinators and material handlers to drive the shag truck.Training of utilities as replacements for material handlers and receiving coordinators.Coordinate with the shift manager the rotation of designated utilities for training.Keep trailer storage locations organized and maintain the trailer inventory and location.Coordinate all movement of material between plant and warehouse locations.Receive pick-up lists with dates and locations from material controllers and schedule pick-ups and deliveries with carriers and logistics companies.Track urgent shipments after hours or when material planners are not present.Continuous improvement within the Materials DepartmentGeneral housekeeping of the plant.Ensure all employees have a safe environment in that all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated. Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently, and respond to and investigate all reports of accidents or injuries in a timely manner. Thoroughly train new employees, correct or commend employee's health and safety performance, and conduct adequate performance appraisals by evaluating an employee's safety performance. Take an active part in the plant safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, conducting safety talks in departmental meetings, effectively investigate accidents/incidents promptly, damage containers and assist in meeting or exceeding plant safety goals. Display a positive attitude towards safety and lead by example that will result in a safe and healthful workplace for all who work at Louisville Seating Systems. Ensures that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Administers and ensures compliance with the Quality and Material Management System requirements as outlined in the policy manuals.

 HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and clean, safe and professional place for employees to work by utilizing them during downtime or agreed upon contractual time.Take the lead in implementing successful job rotations that are developed by the safety engineer and approved by the management team.Ensure all employees have a safe environment in that all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected and/or eliminated. Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently, and respond to and investigate all reports of accidents or injuries in a timely manner. Thoroughly train new employees, correct or commend employees' health and safety performance. and conduct adequate performance appraisals by evaluating an employee's safety performance, Take an active part in the plant safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, conducting regular workplace inspections, conducting safety talks in departmental meetings, effectively investigate accidents/incidents promptly, and assist in meeting or exceeding plant safety goals.Display a positive attitude towards safety and lead by example that will result in a safe and healthful workplace for all who work at Spring Hill Seating Systems.Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Safety and Health Act. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience as a Materials Supervisor in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Automotive experience a plus.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Experience with ERP systems. SAP a plus.Proficient computer skills.Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Safety and Health Act. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The supervisor must be mobile to interface within the plant, warehouse and customer location.  Should be physically capable to perform any job within the material department including forklift, shag truck and other equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 54 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
