Job Title: Materials Senior Specialist – Ceramic Matrix Composites
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 in office days a week
Working Location: Indianapolis, IN or Cypress, CA
Join Rolls-Royce as a Materials Senior Specialist – Ceramic Matrix Composites. As a Materials Senior Specialist, you will be recognised as a key source of business-critical Materials Engineering technical expertise across the company. You will have in-depth and/or breadth of knowledge in Ceramic Matrix Composites – Environmental Barrier Coating material system and it’s processing, microstructure and properties with a broad knowledge of other related disciplines. In this role, you will generate business benefits through the application of deep technical knowledge.
Acts as a change agent, adding significant long-term value through enhancing technical competitive advantage and/or fixing problems that pose significant commercial risk. Impact may be across multiple business units within the group, or on an area of technical expertise within a single business but recognised as being significant at group level and across the wider industry.
Ensures appropriate policies, standards and best practices are defined, shared and adopted.
Pro-actively identifies opportunities to improve company capability in the specialism to address long-term technology, methods and people capability requirements.

What you will be doing:

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Polymer, Ceramic or Chemical Engineering with 8+ years of High Temperature Composite Materials engineering experience, ORMaster’s degree in Materials, Polymer, Ceramic or Chemical Engineering with 6+ years of High Temperature Composite Materials engineering experience, ORPhD in Materials, Polymer, Ceramic or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of High Temperature Composite Materials engineering experienceIn order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent ResidentPreferred Requirements:
Experience in a Ceramic Matrix Composites – Environmental Barrier Coating material system and it’s process/structure/propertiesExperience in developing technology through a gated maturity process and a deep understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)Experience leading a team of technical specialists to deliver a technology program into a product applicationWhat we offer:
