Materials & Process Technician
Job Title: Materials & Process TechnicianJob Description As a Materials & Process Technician, you will prepare test samples for analysis through cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing. You will support engineers in experiments related to sample preparation, such as molding and testing, while operating, validating, and maintaining mechanical and analytical testing equipment. Your role will involve thoroughly documenting, managing, examining, recording, and saving testing data records. Additionally, you will organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage bins, and workstation areas. Responsibilities + Prepare test samples for analysis, including cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing. + Support engineers in sample preparation experiments, such as molding and testing. + Operate, validate, and maintain mechanical and analytical testing equipment. + Document, manage, examine, record, and save testing data records. + Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage bins, and workstation areas. Essential Skills + Expertise in materials testing and process validation. + Proficiency in sample preparation techniques. + Experience working with lab equipment for mechanical, thermal, or chemical testing. + Strong data acquisition and quality assurance abilities. + Ability to use cross-section equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Develop and apply analytical skills, including process development. + Commitment to personal and technical development related to products, testing equipment, and processes. + Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks under stress. Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory setting, where you will work with various technologies and equipment. You will be expected to manage and maintain laboratory inventory and consumables, ensuring a well-organized and efficient workspace. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
