General Job Duties:Exhibit a fair and consistent leadership approach in alignment with The Magna Employee’s Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive workplace.Demonstrate problem-solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.Promote and support adherence to Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of operations.Identify growth and developmental opportunities and ongoing training needs of supervisory personnel to foster a positive working environment.Lead and direct departmental health and safety objectives, while supporting Company directives to provide a safe and healthful workplace for all Division employees.Specific Job DutiesMaintain and present materials and logistics KOIs to management (inventory turns, on-time delivery, premium freight, etc.).Manage and standardize all scheduling, receiving, picking, and delivery of component materials to ensure a consistent approach across functions.Ensure proper integration of the MRP system into Division materials processes with a high level of data accuracy.Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, implementing permanent corrective actions.Integrate EDI releases from customers into accurate scheduling of Tier II suppliers.Review Bill of Materials to ensure MRP accuracy for correct inventory consumption.Manage transportation logistics for inbound and outbound freight (non-F.O.B. Division) to minimize costs and ensure on-time delivery.Oversee receipt of incoming purchased items for prompt inventory recognition and controlled multi-location storage.Collaborate with manufacturing departments to provide standardized JIT component delivery.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize inventory and supply chain costs through lean practices.Manage efforts to ensure Tier II suppliers become EDI capable and compliant.Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service activities.Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers.Plan logistics operations for inbound/outbound shipments, including transportation management.Arrange shipping services and build relationships with delivery partners.Coordinate with production to ensure timely inventory readiness for shipments.Manage component obsolescence, from ordering through claim tracking.Support implementation of EB2 system.Track inventory containment and return non-conforming products to suppliers, ensuring credit or replacement.Support supplier lean initiatives.Mentor supply chain coordinators in leadership development, materials systems knowledge, and lean methodology.Oversee EDI coordination.Ensure all accidents are reported and investigated within 24 hours.Perform other duties as required.Educational RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in a related field of study.Required Work ExperienceMinimum five years of materials and logistics management experience in an automotive environment.Experience in the development and implementation of MRP systems.Strong organizational skills.Results-oriented with the ability to drive change.Proficient in Windows environment and QAD systems.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
