POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

Ensures 100 percent on-time delivery of products to finished goods as scheduled by AE’s committed shipment date.  Improves AE’s ability to meet customer delivery requirements by understanding BU capacity, identifying constraints, and actively reducing lead times (availability) by product.  Minimizes AE’s investment in raw and finished material inventory where appropriate.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete PDP Process. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with, material program manager (MPM), marketing, sales, production and engineering managers. Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. Develops and implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, and manufacturing performance reporting. Approves quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements. Coordinates and implements Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in NPI. Analyzes long lead time parts and works with MPM to develop custom supply solutions (e.g. point-of-use material, line-side stocking, kanban, min-max supply, etc.)  Coordinate with engineering to create and maintain BOM’s in SAP. Coordinate with the program manager to create and maintain the project schedule. Coordinate the release of parts, modules, and/or units to appropriate department in production. Coordinate material selection process and purchase. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

This position is an in person role and based in the Milpitas, CA office. Primarily works in an fast-paced engineering environment which because of the nature of the product being produced, high voltage and current conditions exist and appropriate precautions must be observed. Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment and must also be able to navigate through the production and engineering environment, following the processes and procedures dictated in manufacturing and engineering. Works in a high urgency environment under very limited supervision.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing. Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand. Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years in Purchasing/Planning environment Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions with minimal support from management. Basic understanding of planning and the processes associated with manufacturing. Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment. Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility. Previous experience with SAP. Experience working in a team and group setting with upper level managers.

 

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Computer Information Sciences,  or equivalent education and/or experience.

Desirable:

Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or CPM certification.

 

 

 

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
