Materials Planner
Job Title: Materials PlannerJob Description Join an innovative company that leads in trace moisture analyzers, serving diverse sectors like semiconductor fabrication, space exploration, and medical and industrial gas production. As a Materials Planner, you will leverage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software systems to analyze sales history, Bill of Materials (BOM), and inventory levels. Your role will involve forecasting future demand, calculating necessary raw materials, and optimizing ordering quantities to ensure timely availability for production, all while minimizing inventory costs and avoiding stock outs. Responsibilities + Procure materials, equipment, and services to support manufacturing, engineering, R&D, and service functions. + Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers. + Expedite orders as needed to meet production schedules. + Maintain and foster strong vendor relationships. Essential Skills + 2+ years of experience using MRP systems for data analysis, BOM, and inventory forecasting. + 2+ years of purchasing/buying experience in the manufacturing industry. + 2+ years of experience sourcing suppliers and maintaining relationships. + 2+ years of experience implementing inventory optimization strategies. + 2+ years of experience negotiating prices, quantities, and delivery schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 2+ years as a Buyer/Purchaser/Procurement Specialist for a manufacturing company. + Experience negotiating pricing with vendors. + Experience sourcing new vendors for purchasing supplies. + Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP, inventory management, procurement, and supplier management processes. + Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline, with five or more years of relevant experience in high-tech manufacturing. + Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. + Strong analytical and decision-making skills to support buying decisions, problem resolution, and cost reductions. + Procurement experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus. + APICS certification is a plus. Work Environment This role is set within an office environment, with approximately 10 colleagues. You will report directly to the CEO and be the sole planner for the company, requiring strong independence and expertise. The dress code is business casual, and working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
