Provide leadership of Materials Management activities for the Saegertown facility in support of the Parker WIN Strategy. This role develops and executes strategies within a lean enterprise environment concentrating on people, organization, process and information technology. Key objectives include maximizing customer experience (LISC) and optimizing inventory.
This role is responsible for the materials management for the Saegertown facility.
Position reports to the Division S&OP and Materials Manager and interacts with other functional leaders. The materials manager works with suppliers, business units, value streams, Sourcing, I/T and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through order fulfillment. Responsibilities include leadership of materials and production planning for the facility and inventory functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Promote and foster safe work environment
• Functions as the plant process owner for inventory management and audits the processes to ensure policies and support of inventory goals and objectives
• Leads the management of and corrective actions for late backlog
• Implements a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control
• Supports demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure the availability of all materials and products at minimum cost
• Supports the facility capacity planning/SIOP activities
• Analyzes inventories, develops inventory projections and executes plans to meet and exceed DSI goals and optimize customer service
• Reviews and analyzes key customer LISC performance and leads the identification of root cause and corrective action related to on-time delivery
• Establishes and implements standard re-order and delivery procedures
• Employs data analysis and information technology to improve site/value stream(s) performance
• Responsible for part data accuracy and the implementation of strategic MRP parameters to support customer experience
• Communicates significant LISC and late backlog exposures with customer-facing functions
• Creates development plans for materials management team members and ensure talent pipeline is in place for key functions
• Leading and supporting Plant, GM, and Presidential level kaizen teams
WORK EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
• Minimum of 3-5 years applicable experience in materials management, supply chain, or operations
EDUCATION
REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Business, Engineering or Other Professional Certification –APICS or ISM preferred Certifications
PREFFERED
• Supply Chain Training Program –such as Parker Executive Development Program
