The Materials Manager supports the development, tailoring, and execution of Pall DMS Strategy for Deland with a goal to create a responsive end-to-end environment from the point of order receipt to shipment out of the factory, including past due, material handling, inventory accuracy, and production planning.


Job Description Summary

Responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material, and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. May also be responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules and for the appropriate shipping of finished goods to various distribution centers utilizing material handling equipment in support of management policies for customer delivery and inventory levels. Includes planners and inventory control roles.

This position is part of the Materials Team and will be an onsite role located in Cortland, NY. We harness the collective power of science, perspectives, and passion to partner with our customers to solve their most critical challenges.

 Responsibilities:

 Developmental leadership of the planning, buying, receiving, warehouse, and shipping organization.

Deploy site goals and targets by setting individual targets for direct reports and coordinating additional DMS-related goals with site management.

Promote and instill a progressive system-thinking culture to produce strong, trusting, collaborative, collegial relationships amongst peers, direct reports, and associates.

Oversee planning of all areas of the factory to ensure standards and strategies are upheld.

Use PFEP to collaborate with strategic sourcing to provide support and influence supplier decisions that impact inventory & service levels.

Manage Inventory using Pall Industrial DMS Tools and Best Practices.

Manage / Improve site warehouse processes to support delivery to customers. 

The essential requirements of this role include:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, MBA in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management.

3+ years of experience in materials planning and procurement in an international manufacturing and supply chain environment.

3+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, demand planning, and scheduling to include a solid understanding of procurement “best practices” including, but not limited to Supplier PULL Systems, VMI, Supplier Assessment, and Vendor Rating, including Supplier Performance reviews, supplier Kanban, consignment, stocking, and consolidated invoicing.

3+ years of proven functional leadership experience within the procurement and inventory management field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good record of KPIs improvement, on-time delivery, lead time, cost, and Inventory reduction, Supplier development, etc.

Certified in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, or similar.

The annual salary range for this role is $135,000 to $150,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
