Manage Production Inventory Control (PIC) functions to plan, coordinate, control, and direct activities involving the scheduling and release of production orders, the requisitioning of purchased parts and maintaining accurate inventory control records and system procedures. Analyze and recommend solutions to improve availability of component parts to ensure adherence to production schedules. Position does include supervisory duties on valve and actuator.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Responsible overseeing the release, control, and follow-up of all shop floor work orders from creation to shipment. Coordinate expediting of component parts to prevent production delays. Heavy emphasis on the investigation and resolution of component part availability issues. Recommend disciplined long-term solutions to inventory and delivery problems within a domestic and international supply chain. Analyze capacity, production, and inventory reports to ensure the constant flow of work orders from origination to shipment. Oversees inventory levels of purchased parts and raw materials as needed to meet production needs in conjunction with corporate commodity management and purchasing. Coordinates inter-company component transfers and manufacturing orders. Speaks directly to vendors to resolve delivery issues and facilitate the involvement of various departments such as Engineering and Quality as needed. Assist with supply chain management, as directed, in support of assembly and fabrication production goals. Directly supervise Production Inventory Control associates. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining, addressing/resolving complaints and conflict, and training. FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or similar course of study. Minimum of 8 years of dynamic purchasing/expediting experience with emphasis added to international suppliers and pull-based systems. Professional certification in APICS, CPIM, Lean, Six Sigma—not required but highly desirable. Must have a comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of production planning, demonstrated organizational and project management skills, and excellent computer and communication skills. Accomplish/perform work responsibilities and assignments from beginning to end with minimal supervision. Continuous mental concentration and attention to detail is required to preclude errors. Ability to forecast, strategically plan, negotiate, maintain flexibility, and work through conflict is essential.
