Position Description

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 79,000 miles of pipelines, 139 terminals, and 15 LNG/RNG process facilities. Our pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, CO2 and other products. Our terminals transload and store liquid commodities including petroleum products, ethanol and chemicals, liquified natural gas, landfill renewable natural gas, and bulk products, including petroleum coke, metals and ores. This position will support the LNG/RNG facilities located in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn and apply standards and processes consistently with supervision.Demonstrate an understanding of investment recovery practices and approaches.Understand accounting practices related to inventory and surplus sales transactions.     Perform duties with strict adherence to Kinder Morgan’s Corporate Policy.Monitor inventory levels, ensure appropriate levels are maintained by tracking return rates and conduct physical audits.Participate in the maintenance and support of the Lawson Item Master.Assist Project Management and Operations by locating needed materials throughout Kinder Morgan.Assist Operations in identifying surplus and obsolete inventory.Work on inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestures.Work with field personnel on a routine basis to set and track minimum and maximum inventory levels.Perform analysis of inventory mix, production demand and interface regarding levels of inventory.Complete special projects as assigned.Facilitate surplus sales and redeployments throughout Kinder Morgan.Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and the Investment Recovery Company.Work with internal and external customers to achieve annual investment recovery goal.Execute Purchase Agreements and Bills of Sale.Ensure completeness and accuracy of orders for project materials delivered to staging warehouse.Assist buyers and vendors with material order issues.Provide timely updates to Project Management on project material status.Resolve any material discrepancies, shortages or damages.Ensure product moves seamlessly.Coordinate loading out of project materials with construction contractors, freight carriers and/or Project Support.Communicate with cross-functional teams to identify process flow efficiencies and develop standardized procedures.Operate forklifts, vehicles, and equipment.Operate under safety, environmental and ethical guidelines

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related discipline is preferred.

Experience/Specific Knowledge: 
2-3 years of experience in Materials Management, Purchasing, Operations, Engineering or related field preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power PointKnowledge and certification of forklift operations.Knowledge of materials such as loose fittings, valves, pipe, etc.Safety awareness.
Certification, licenses, registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.Subject to random drug testingCompetencies, skills, and abilities:

Travel may be required across a broad geographic region, as determined by Hiring Manager.       Job level and salary commensurate with experience and skill sets.                                                                                                                                           May be required to carry a company-provided cell phone and respond as needed during working and non-working hours.May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed.         Must be available to respond to call-outs as assigned.Perform work in dusty environment and all types of temperature/weather conditions.

Preferred Education, experience, competencies, certifications, skills, and abilities:
Above the minimum requirements. Not required, but adventageous for the position
Experience with Lawson Inventory Control, Requisition and Procurement modules.     Knowledge of Kinder Morgan business and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plants.     Demonstrated understanding of Kinder Morgan business units and shared service departments.  
Other responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                                       Attend weekly Ops Supervisor meeting to understand upcoming activity and any material requirementsAttend monthly OPEX Master Variance meeting or equivalent to provide updates on material spendingTrack material spending in Cost Tracing spreadsheet for PO issued itemsComplete RFM/RFS, POs as needed including Bids and ReceivingTrack KM Trailers and RegistrationTrack Recyclables, Metal Dumpsters, Used Filters and Waste as neededVisit multiple plants in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky.  Primarily travel will be day trips within Indiana, with an occasional overnight trip to Michigan.  One night per month should be anticipated.                                                                                                                                                                                                            The above describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  Ths position may perform other duties as assigned.
