Materials Inspection Engineer

The Role

SRG Global Asset Care is seeking a Materials Inspection Engineer to join our progressive and highly experienced materials and mechanical testing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects across the mining, power, oil & gas, transport, and process industries.

This position will be located in Singleton, New South Wales. This role is a Full Time position and plays a critical part in supporting asset integrity, safety, and compliance across a range of industries.

 Key Responsibilities:

Deliver metallurgy (engineering) and associated services as required, including on-site metallurgical work; Plan and undertake comprehensive metallurgical failure analysis, in-depth materials investigations and general materials consultancy to the mining, power, oil & gas, transport, and process industries; Participate in on-site materials consulting and on-site metallography, including project management and performance of NDT methods as required. Prepare comprehensive technical reports. Provide clients with quotations/prices for routine and specialist work. Maintain precise technical records and conduct work in accordance with Company quality procedures and relevant standards; and Ensure that proper safety procedures, as detailed in the Safety Manual, are strictly followed.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Bachelor of Engineering or Science (majoring in metallurgical/materials engineering); Relevant industrial experience Experience in failure analysis and materials investigations Flexibility to travel to remote areas for onsite work FAI – Failure analysis investigation, metallography, fractography and root cause analysis. Material selection and evaluation, provide recommendations on materials based on design requirements, service conditions and environmental factors. Interpreting test data to assess material properties and compliance with specifications. Experience in selecting the correct NDT applications for optimum results and understanding their limitations. Previous exposure to reviewing the design, fabrication, and service history of pressure vessels and piping systems
