SUMMARY: Responsible for managing and maintaining the flow of materials and products in the production area, according to established guidelines, ensuring timely availability of materials to meet production schedules. He/she will also be responsible for the review of the Kanban, reporting any malfunctioning of the racks as well as the lack of identification. In addition, he/she will be responsible for loading and unloading materials using electric and/or manual pallet jacks, forklifts and other material handling equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receiving and verifying materials in warehouse, this includes receiving, inspecting and validating quantity and quality of materials against purchase orders and specifications.
- Storage and organization of materials in assigned areas, both in warehouse and on production floor, ensuring efficient and safe storage.
- Perform cycle counts, update records in the system and coordinate inventory adjustments when necessary.
- Deliver materials to workstations according to production requirements.
- Identify, pack and label materials to be delivered to production.
- Manage records of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with control procedures.
- Handling forklifts, pallet jacks (electric and manual) and other devices for the safe transfer of materials.
- Support the materials department in audits, provide documentation and assistance in inventory reviews and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the warehouse and material handling area.
- Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, avoiding operational risks.
- Propose improvements for material flow efficiency.
- Work hand in hand with production, purchasing and warehouse departments to ensure timely availability of supplies.
- Train new personnel in material handling and control procedures.
- Record transactions in the system to maintain control of cyclic counts.
- Other assigned responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
- 1-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
- High school education.
- Ability to type and record basic information on a computer.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Knowledge of common practices and procedures within the field.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and observational skills.
- Basic knowledge of mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing (desirable).
- Previous SAP experience (desirable).
