We are searching for the best talent for **Materials Engineering Co-Op** to be in **Añasco, PR.**
+ The Co-op term is from January to June, 2026.
+ Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
**Purpose:**
Johnson & Johnson Vision (Surgical Branch), a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Master´s and PHD students for either co-op's or internships in Supply Chain located in Anasco, Puerto Rico.
**You will be responsible for:**
**_Engineering_**
+ _Chemical/Plastics/Materials Engineering_ - Opportunity to work on a variety of engineering assignments utilizing a wide range of engineering principles. Assist with planning development and design of materials, equipment, and/or processes. Review progress and evaluate results of multiple projects across various disciplines. Partner with teams of engineers and technicians as necessary to achieve project completion. Assist with facilitating and conducting engineering assignments.
**_Materials/Polymer Science_**
+ Investigate the interaction of various chemical components and their impact on finished medical devices. Project work may include formulations, photo-initiated polymerization, device processing of finished product, raw material analysis, and characterization of the finished device. Projects may involve a combination of chemical handling, blending, and device characterization. Chemistry or Material Science students are preferred. Completion of Organic Chemistry, Polymer Science, and/or Chemistry courses are preferred.
**Qualifications / Requirements:**
+ Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at accredited University is required.
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master´s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science/Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials or Plastics/Engineering /Injection Molding, or related field is required.
+ Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
+ Verbal and written communication skills in English.
+ Must be able to provide their own transportation and it is required to be onsite 5 days a week.
+ Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is preferred.
+ Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
