Materials Coordinator
This working position will be located at the General Service Headquarters in Forest Park, Ga and is responsible for direct management of Power Delivery inventory located at the MDC warehouse. This position will work under the direction of a SCM Operations Team Leader. This position is responsible for developing and managing the approach for inventory management, warehousing, logistics and asset disposition associated with SCM operations. This position will partner with Distribution, Lighting Services and Division Management to develop and maintain a strategy that supports customers’ and Supply Chain Management goals associated with inventory, planning, emergency material and storm restoration. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Sarbanes– Oxley legislation, Safety, OSHA Laws, FERC, DOT, EPA, and company policies and procedures in SCM operations.
The successful candidate will:
Generate documents associated with storeroom transactions and maintain files in accordance with guidelines Coordinate movement of all material across the state. Assist with WMS Priya order entry Build and maintain excellent business relationships with Power Delivery and other key customers Managing all Hazardous Materials within the storeroom to assure safety and regulatory compliance Perform physical inventories of material located at the storeroom Handle external customers request for 3 phase transformers, conduit, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated excellence in safety Prior experience in storeroom operations with knowledge of storeroom operations, including materials and processes including inventory control (MAXIMO), warehousing and forklift operations Experience with power delivery processes, materials, and equipment with an in-depth knowledge as they relate to SCM Training or experience in accounting practices, warehouse operations, Maximo, and power delivery operations are desired Possess good computer skills (Maximo, Microsoft Suite, any Warehouse Management System) Project management skills Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and obtain results by established deadlines Excellent communication skills both written and oral College degree a plus
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicating with line crews, engineers, and external customers Maintaining accurate records and ensuring 100% compliance with SOX procedures Maintain optimum inventory levels as well as turn over ratios Work closely with PD to determine material requirements for upcoming jobs Must be available for overtime and callouts after hours and weekends as needed Work closely with other Materials Coordinators throughout the division
