JOB SUMMARY:
The Materials Coordinator is business partner to the Materials Manager responsible for the overall control & movement of materials in and out of the site assigned and responsible for inventory and receiving control processes and procedures, inbound and outbound shipping, warehousing, and facility planner organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provide leadership and direction to Materials Team assigned per area of Warehousing, Planning, Material Flow and Internal Logistics (Goal Setting, Performance Management, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Training & Development, Information Systems, Rewards & Recognitions) to empower and develop teams using established PPS systems, core beliefs, guiding principles and attributes.
+ Plan and organize material handling/warehouse/shipping functions to develop and ensure adherence to policies and procedures that contribute to the most efficient, safe and economical movement of materials throughout manufacturing in alignment with strategies defined by Materials Manager.
+ Meet Targets of Schedule Attainment, Clean Build & Inventory Accuracy and Turns defined by area assigned.
+ Continually improve performance and service to manufacturing and attain Corporate and Plant goals.
+ Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments such as production, manufacturing, quality control, and finance. Collaborate with Sourcing, Central Planning, Engineering and Sister Plants Materials team to continually improve supply chain management. Ensure a high fill rate for Poland supplied service parts if apply.
+ Oversee inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production requirements and maintain inventory accuracy.
+ Support flexible & lean manufacturing methods. Follow standards defined by Plant in Polaris Production Systems Material pull systems throughout manufacturing and with our supplier base.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement within the materials assigned team.
+ Participate in preparation of annual forecasts and establish future pre-production plans in conjunction with manager of area.
+ Control departmental budget and assist in the development of long-range plant goals and objectives defined by management.
+ Develop and present monthly metrics.
+ Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
+ 3+ years previous materials management experience
+ Demonstrated people leadership experience.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes
+ Outstanding leadership, influence, and communication skills.
+ Warehouse Management Systems Knowledge a plus
+ APICS certification a plus.
