Job Responsibilities:

University degree including experience in business management including production material planning and scheduling and Just-In-Time (JIT) concepts, principles, and techniques; or equivalent work experience.Experience in the automotive industry.Minimum 3 years of related work experience in Materials/LogisticsPrior supervisory/leadership experienceExperience in Material Flow Design in a Tier One automotive environmentERP systems experience and knowledge of Customer PortalsProficient using computers and MS Office ApplicationsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a variable workloadStrong organizational, time management, planning, written, and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function.Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirementsMust be able to interact effectively with other team membersAble to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality

DUTIES:

The Shift Leader reports directly to the Materials & Logistics Manager and is responsible to provide communication and reporting of the Department progress/results in achieving divisional goals, and the regular operation of the department.Provides instruction, guidance and leadership to the Materials & Logistics team members by assisting in solving day-to-day problems, utilizing all available resources.Oversees all areas of material flow, shipping and receiving throughout the plant.Manages and coordinates all aspects of logistics, ship schedules, traffic management and any customer concerns related to materials and logistics.Communicates with automotive customers and suppliers on matters relating to supply of racks and concerns with packaging or shipping; communicates on all departmental and divisional levels on operational issues.Directs and distributes the work for their area of responsibility.Monitors and adjusts inventory balances as required, investigates inventory problems and implements solutions.Schedules, plans and foresees impact of decisions for the Materials and Logistics area.Assists and/or leads completion of Annual MMOG Self-Assessment and C-TPAT CertificationEstablishes and maintains effective communications/interaction with all other Departments, including but not limited to production, engineering, quality assurance, and HR groups in order to achieve established targetsActs on behalf of the Materials & Logistics Manager in his/her absence.Ensures all systems, processes and procedures are being followedDevelops 5S plan and ensures to its adherence.Assists in the development of the layout for material storage, ensuring effective and efficient use of space within and outside the plant.Participates in the recruitment of Materials and Logistics personnel.Participates in the development of CBAM’s goals and objectives to support the annual business plan.Supports preparation of the budget planning process and takes responsibility to meet the financial targets.Makes decisions in the scope of their responsibilities that are in the best interest of the department, CBAM, Cosma and Magna.Communicates and reports department progress/results on regular operations and on achieving CBAM’s goals.Directs and distributes the work for their area of responsibility.Ensures proper documentation of processes, equipment, systems, employee relation issues, investigations, etc.Conducts regular department meetings to communicate safety, quality, timing, cost and motivation information and to promote involvement in issues affecting employees or their work areas.Ensures confidentiality in all matters pertaining to both business and employee relations.Plans major hiring events; coordinates and performs interviews; and carries out performance appraisals, counseling and corrective actions for Area Leaders and Team Leaders.Completes payroll activities for employees.Ensures employees are trained or certified, as required and participates in training programs as required.Observes, understands, teaches, coaches and mentors direct reports for enhancement of knowledge, skills and succession planning.Effectively builds and fosters high performing teams by ensuring teamwork within the department.Conducts and/or ensures that all Area and Team Leaders investigate all non-conformances to Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and applies the appropriate corrective action.Ensures fairness to direct reports and encourages and participates in the Open-Door Resolution Process for employee relation issues.Works cooperatively with HR Health & Wellness to return employees (STD/Workers Compensation) to work under the Return-to-Work program and ensures the leaders within their area of responsibility monitor employees to ensure they work within their R-T-W plan.Ensures suppliers are performing work safely while in operations work areas/zones when applicable.Complies with, supports and models CBAM’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.Complies with relevant Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OSHA.   Follows and ensures the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.  Ensures all associates are adhering to all the above and problem-solving issues that arise in the area of safety and ergonomics.Conducts themselves in a professional manner.Develops and maintains peer relationships.Keeps work area clean and organized.Other duties as required.
